We live in a world that is always pressing for more. More money, more toys, more acclaim, and more fame. There is an undeniable call (and corresponding drive) to perform. Forever running on a hamster wheel chasing a carrot that’s just out of reach. We are striving, stretching, and pursuing. Doing everything we can to arrive. Giving more. Sometimes giving all.

To what end? The drive to perform is an endless pit of demand. It is never satisfied. But, there is Someone who is, and He doesn’t require your performance. He accepts you as you are. He accepts the unrefined, unadorned, and naked truth of you.

I am grateful to the One who knows the true version of us. He accepts us. Full stop.
