These days it’s hard to know who to trust. No longer do people feel accountable for their own word, and the extending of their handshake in agreement. Instead of being anchors of truth, their words deceive, circumvent responsibility, and exalt self-will. Then, they engage in mental acrobatics to justify their actions and ease their guilt. Sadly, they don’t realize that they are truly the ones deceived. Lying diminishes the liar. So, while they’ve gotten away with deception for a season, they are standing on shifting sand and the ultimate impact is to their own souls. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Truth (and the Giver of Truth) are always available. Simply make the choice to live in Truth.
I’m grateful today for the truth tellers among us! Those who place a high value on their word and their commitments. If this is you, I celebrate you and the courage it takes for you to stand up, every day, to tell and live in the truth!
